Actor, Tom Cruise Buyout?
Posted June 21, 2007 Posted Under:Did you hear Tom Cruise, the couch jumper, wants to buy the LA Galaxy to be even closer to his pal David Beckham. I don’t know if this is Hollywood gossip but that's crazy. And I’m not sure if it is good or bad. Would the league want to be affiliated with him? Maybe the sport needs a wacky personality. If he is as passionate about soccer as he is interviews, than maybe it would bring some more needed attention. He would be like the owner of the Mavericks.
But, in reality, I don’t think AEG (current owner) is going to sell anytime soon, at least not this team, maybe one of their other MLS teams. There is too much potential for soccer to sell it now. Plus, Phil Anschutz has been there from the start. I don’t think he's going to sell until he sees all of his Beckham money spent and returned. What do you think?

I agree, don't think the Galaxy is for sale, T. Cruise's next move will be to add yet another new team to the league in hopes that his Buddy Beck's (and I wonder if Beckham thinks they are as good of friends as Tom thinks they are? I mean, really???) Then Tom will find out that he cant just add another team to the league because the MLS is doing it right and not trying to just see how many teams they can add with the strength in numbers theory, so TC will then find and buy enough players and coaches to start the GLS or Grande Football League a la NFC v. AFC American style, all the while against Beckhams protest and continued denial to come to the Church of Scientology which is where Tom finally really in truly losses it on his visit to the Oprah show to talk about it all---but thats just my premonition, only timed will prove me right or wrong...¡Ashita Mañana! -The Grand Poobah
