The Endless Soccer Summer

The Soccer Project is a feature-length documentary about pick-up soccer around the world. In the spirit of the surfing-classic Endless Summer, where two friends travel the world in search of the perfect wave, two soccer players--Luke Boughen, a Notre Dame alum, and Gwendolyn Oxenham, a Duke alum--will search for pick-up games. From Andean women playing in hoop skirts and top hats in the mountains of Peru, to old men in Speedos playing on French beaches, they'll search for all varities and backdrops of pick-up soccer.

Check out our website www.thesoccerproject.com.

The Soccer Project leaves for Trinidad and South America on September 12. They'll use the footage from South America to try to attract the backing of a major studio (HBO films, A&E Films, and National Geographic Film are our goals) who'd fund the rest of the way around the globe. For this first leg, they're fundraising...sponsored by the non-profit Southern Documentary Fund, all donations are a tax write-off. If you know of families, businesses, soccer fanatics who would be up for any size contribution, or anyone else who'd want to follow their progress around the world, direct them to thesoccerproject.com.
